Our Mission & Vision

Knowledge.
Community.
Hope.

We support people fighting the disease of obesity with humor, humility, and honesty.

Our mission

Bringing knowledge, community, and hope together to support people fighting the disease of obesity.

Isolation is the wrong tool for an isolating disease.

For years, the standard approach was referral, pre-op protocol, surgery. From our experience, we felt something else was needed in partnership with surgeons, centers, and systems. Support in between the visits. Education grounded in lived experience, daily support, and a community where compassion, empathy, and understanding were always a click away. A safe and private space, not ruled by algorithms, but by its own members.

When people fight this disease together, something shifts. The fight gets easier to sustain, and people find the energy to keep showing up, even on the hard days.

That is the idea behind BariNation Foundation: knowledge so people understand what they are actually up against, community so they are not up against it by themselves, and hope because those two things together make it possible to keep going.

Whole-person support

Four pillars. One complete picture.

Obesity care takes more than one intervention. We build support around movement, mindset, metabolic wellness, and community, whether treatment includes surgery, medication, lifestyle change, or all of the above.

Movement

Find what keeps you moving.

Support that meets people where they are and helps movement become sustainable.

Mindset

Make room for the whole story.

Honest conversations, shared experience, and support without judgment or stigma.

Metabolic wellness

Understand the disease.

Evidence-based education that reflects the complex biology of obesity and its care.

Our vision

Removing the barriers to lifelong obesity care and support.

Too often, someone gets access to care, makes real progress, and then hits a wall: insurance stops covering it, the specialist is three states away, or the community that got them through the hardest part falls away once the “success story” phase ends.

Obesity is a chronic disease. The care and support around it have to be lifelong too. They do not get to expire after year one.

We are working toward a future where support never runs out, treatment changes do not mean rebuilding an entire support system, and evidence-based medical care is met with understanding instead of stigma.

How we show up

Human support, every time.

Everything we make gets filtered through the same three things.

Humor

Because this fight is hard enough without all of us taking ourselves too seriously the whole time.

Humility

Because none of us, hosts included, has this fully figured out either.

Honesty

Because sugarcoating a chronic disease helps exactly nobody.
